look what we've done...

Baby

We thought it was about time that we made a formal announcement: we're having a baby. Mrs McMuffin has just entered her second trimester and all is well. I haven't got much else to say about it at the moment, except that I have high hopes of the second trimester after the hormonal hell that was the first.

What's the cake name to be?

Posted by: Kirsty | 12 Jul 2005 00:08:26

Congratulations! I think you both will be very wonderful parents, now that Slinky has broken you in.

Posted by: Loretta | 12 Jul 2005 01:40:53

Congratulations! And I love the title of this post.

Any words from the McMuffin with a bun in the oven?

Posted by: David (TEFL Smiler) | 12 Jul 2005 01:43:08

Congrats! It looks like your baby definitely has a head! Will you teach her/him to use Slinky's cat door?

Congratulations and best of luck. The best piece of info we got about having a child -- it never gets any worse than the 6 week mark; you can't get more tired, and you're all starting to get used to one another. That seems to be true.

And then they get to be about 3 months, and start smiling at you, and then it's really all over.

WAY HEY!!!! a new cousin on the way.
cool.

Posted by: H | 12 Jul 2005 07:40:31

CONGRATULATIONS!!

You'll be great parents.

Posted by: Ella | 12 Jul 2005 08:06:29

Well, actually, you can get more tired once the child is born but it's ok. The problem goes away after about 20 years. Congratulations, it's so much fun being tired. This really is the final frontier.

I am sitting her with my mouth agape! I am stunned.
Congratulations. We should have seen right through all that *code* about not feeling well.

Posted by: jo | 12 Jul 2005 13:32:36

Wow, I can't say that I saw that one coming. Congratulations!

Posted by: Will | 12 Jul 2005 17:20:22

Terrific news.

Posted by: Roxanne | 12 Jul 2005 22:55:12

Awwww... a little egg mcmuffin!

Congratulations - you are gonna love being parents!

Posted by: Donna | 13 Jul 2005 06:38:42

How absolutely wonderful! I'm very happy for you.

Posted by: Sarah | 13 Jul 2005 16:51:26

Well, congratulations, McMuffins! As a father of two I can safely predict that you're about to be barraged with unsolicited advice on every aspect of pregnancy/parenthood. I'll not join that group, but I will say this: It's a terrific adventure that just doesn't end. You'll find yourself sick with worry one moment and streaming tears of joy unlike you've ever known the next. Enjoy the roller coaster ride.

It's terrific.

Zoinks! Good luck, you lovable foodstuffs.

Posted by: Nagl | 15 Jul 2005 12:51:37

Oh this is wonderful news! I am so excited for you.

The wee little one is going to have wonderful parents.

Posted by: aithne | 16 Jul 2005 00:33:10

OMG what great news!!!! I'm so excited for you! Congratulations! As for the cake name, I vote for Cupcake, mini bundt cake, teacake, gemcake, or what about just plain ol' Babycake!??????

Posted by: Norah Nick | 16 Jul 2005 08:32:17

I like Babycake. I used to love Armistead Maupin's books. Whatever happened to him? The last book I read must have been two or three years ago, or even longer.

I've always wondered how someone gets to be called Baby, as in Dirty Dancing.

Posted by: mr mcmuffin | 16 Jul 2005 08:40:27

While still in the oven, surely the name 'Bun' is reasonably appropriate?

(I'm not calling Mrs McMuffin 'The Oven', by the way - just her womb!)

Posted by: David (TEFL Smiler) | 16 Jul 2005 20:07:30

...and my womb is delighted to have a nickname!

Posted by: mrs mcmuffin | 16 Jul 2005 23:33:29

I think you get to be called Baby by having psycho-wierdo parents, as in Dirty Dancing.

Posted by: Steve | 17 Jul 2005 09:39:48

And 'The Oven' is probably better than 'Gertrude', for instance!
